We're seeking a talented Control Systems Engineer to join our client's team and help drive innovation in the offshore wind sector.
Our client is at the forefront of revolutionising offshore wind operations; specialising in providing cutting-edge access and material lifting systems to the offshore wind sector.
As a Control Systems Engineer, you'll lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge control systems for our client's innovative product range. You'll ensure top-notch product safety while contributing to new product development and supporting existing products throughout their lifecycle.
Your key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing control systems
- Testing and verifying PLC and HMI software with a safety-first approach
- Researching and developing new features for offshore hoists
- Collaborating with suppliers to optimise sourcing and system architecture
- Contributing to cost reduction initiatives and product concept development
- Implementing OT security solutions and documenting software
- Leading or supporting testing and commissioning activities
- Participating in Design Reviews
To be successful within this engineering role you be Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (BSc level or above), with a minimum of two years in a similar technical role. Combined with the following key skills, traits and experience:
- Proficiency in Siemens PLC programming (TIA Portal)
- Experience with motion control and variable speed drives
- Knowledge of essential PLM documentation and ability to interpret electrical diagrams
- Networking knowledge (ProfiNET, Modbus TCP, SNMP, etc.)
- Excellent communication and Microsoft Office skills
- Strong team player with a proactive attitude and ability to multitask
Additional advantageous Experience:
- Experience with Siemens servo drives
- Membership of a professional association (e.g., TÜV)
- Knowledge of fail-safe control system design and ISO 13849 requirements
- Understanding of cyber-security/OT security in control systems
- Familiarity with the offshore wind industry and proficiency in generating electrical diagrams
- Systems integration experience and product certification
