Crynodeb

The OPRA Group has a great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with experience of the Construction / Engineering sectors, who will be responsible for the commercial running of projects from start to finish whilst promoting best practices and working relations with clients.

Role Duties:

Dealing with projects typically ranging from £250k - £5 million
Reviewing and negotiating Contract conditions and Collateral Warranties with Clients.
Develop initial project budgets by Estimating and agreeing on a detailed cost plan for agreement with the Project Team.
Preparing Monthly Applications for Payment and subsequent negotiation of Client assessments to maximise cash flow.
Pricing variations in detail, typically due to changes to design and/or construction work
Attending client and project meetings
Working closely with the design team, site, and project managers on the running of various contracts
Continuous monitoring of project budgets, performance, and costs from start to completion
Create regular budgets, price updates and monthly preparation of contract performance reports (CVRs) for the Directors.
Compile Cash-flow forecasts and work-in-progress reports (WIP) for the Financial Department.

Quantity Surveyor - Essential Skills & Experience Required:

Applicants should have good experience in Quantity Surveying/ Commercial Management (3+ years desirable) and have a recognised qualification in a building-related subject.
Good knowledge of Structural and Architectural Steel
Proven record of commercially running multiple projects simultaneously
Technically capable - understand technical drawings, construction, and terminologies.
Experience and knowledge of various contracts including JCT, NEC and bespoke contracts.
Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
Strong communication skills
Ability to prioritise and work under pressure whilst meeting tight deadlines.

Quantity Surveyor - Key Requirements:

Self-motivated to pro-actively work in a fast-paced, busy design and construction environment.
Commercially astute and highly numerate with the ability to identify new opportunities within Contracts.
Good knowledge of how to improve profit margins whilst maintaining strong client relationships, delivering quality, and staying fully aligned with company values.
Strong planning, organisation, and time management skills
