Summary

Main purpose of job:

To play a major role in the provision of high quality passenger transport for our customers, by driving vehicles to deliver our many services, maintaining records relating to such services, handling cash as required and contributing the effective operation of NATA as a whole.

Essential:

· Aged over 21 and have held a full UK driving licence for at least two years, this should include a category D1 entitlement.

· Be prepared to undertake MiDAS Certification through the Community Transport Association Scheme.

· Honest and reliable

· The ability to work flexibly, as part of a team

· Awareness of and positive attitude towards disability issues

Desirable:

· A clean driving licence

· Good accident record

· To hold a PSV and Digital Tachograph Card

· Extensive experience of driving minibuses or comparable large vehicles

PVG Scheme:

· Appointments to this post must be a member or prepared to become a member of the PVG Scheme.

General Description of Tasks:

· Drive minibuses with due consideration, at all times, of the needs, comfort and safety of passengers. As well as being responsible for the safe operation of any vehicle that is in use, including compliance with all/any legal requirements.

· To ensure the safety of passengers at all times whilst travelling. That seat belts and items such as wheel chair restraints are used correctly.

· To be responsible for the safe operation of ramps, steps, lifts and doors that provide access to the vehicle.

· To record trip data as and when required. This will include mileage and passenger numbers.

· When appropriate, re-fuel vehicles, retaining the receipts for records and cleaning vehicles inside and out.

· To perform other routine tasks necessary to ensure the efficient and effective day to day operation of the organisation. This would include taking vehicles to and from the garage for maintenance.

· Help to promote the organisation and its services to customers, potential customers and the wider community.

· To abide by health and safety legislation at all times.

· Undertake daily safety checks of vehicles according to company policy. This will include checking oil, water, tyres and exterior body work. Any defects should be reported immediately.

· To report, to the Operations Manager, any accident, near miss, breakdown or damage acquired whilst away from the base as soon as it is safe to do so.

Job Types: Part Time, Overtime available

Salary: £12.00 per hour

5 Days over 7
Overtime if desired

Experience: driving: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
Category D1 Licence
CPC Qualification (preferred)
