Where will you be working?

Te Whatu Ora – Te Tai Tokerau (formerly Northland District Health Board) provides public health services across the Northland region, serving a growing population of 190,000. Whangarei Hospital is the largest hospital in Northland providing secondary care services, supported by three rural hospitals in Kaitaia; Kawakawa, and Dargaville.

The department provides a range of diagnostic imaging services to the Northland region, undertaking over 100,000 procedures annually.

Here is your chance to join the multi-skilled, tight-knit team and relocate to one of the most beautiful areas of New Zealand. You will be joining a supportive department that encourages development of special interests where possible, as well as on-going education. Multi-disciplinary meetings are held weekly with involvement from all specialities allowing for a close collegial working environment.

What will you be doing?

You will provide clinical radiological advice that supports the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This includes:

· Undertaking and reporting on radiological diagnostic and interventional procedures where appropriate for expertise and when credentialing requirements are met

· Providing advice to referring clinicians on the most appropriate diagnostic investigations

· Advising and supporting other radiology staff in the radiological process

· Participating in teaching, research, and continuing education where appropriate

· Participating in administrative and quality procedures that assist the safe and effective provision of Radiology services

What do you need?

To be considered, you must have or be eligible for vocational (or locum tenens – special purpose) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in a Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology scope of practice. A strong sub-specialty interest or a sub-specialty fellowship would be an advantage.
