Summary


Parkside Frimley is a dedicated private unit situated within the highly achieving Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. It comprises of 37 Inpatient rooms, an Outpatients Department, and a Pre-op Assessment Department. Diagnostic X-Ray and Physiotherapy services are available on site.

Hours of Vacancy

4 hours per week

The shift will be working as follows:

Sunday 08.00 - 12.00 every week

You will be required to sit a short English and Maths Test as part of the interview process.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our Porter team with excellent customer service:
• Deliver a high standard of service to all patients within the unit ensuring that all patients and visitors are treated in a polite and considerate manner and receive prompt assistance when required.
• Be an ambassador for the Parkside Suite.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out all the necessary porter and messenger services in the
department.
Deliver a high standard of service to all patients within the unit ensuring
that all patients and visitors are treated in a polite and considerate manner
and receive prompt assistance when required.
Be an ambassador for the Parkside Suite.
Work flexibly to meet the needs of a changing workload and service.
Maintain high standards of professionalism, maintaining confidentiality,
treating patients, visitors and staff in a polite and considerate manner.
Ensure Trust and CQC standards are adhered to.
Ensure telephones are answered efficiently and courteously and that written and or verbal messages are conveyed quickly, clearly and accurately.
Transport patients by means of bed, wheelchair or trolley, ensuring that
the transportation is carried out in a safe and courteous manner.
Escort/transport patients to/from the hospital car park if required.
Check that all modes of patient / equipment transport are safe and in good
working order, place defect order for any maintenance that is required to
your supervisor or departmental Manager.
Transport equipment and furniture throughout the hospital and outlying
buildings.
Collect and deliver Pathology specimens and reports, these are to be
carried out following the strict guidelines laid down within the department.
Collect blood from blood bank and deliver to ward departments following
the strict guidelines laid down by the Trust.
Collect and deliver X-rays.
Carry out furniture and office moves as directed following Health & Safety
regulations on manual handling.
Maintain a supply of medical gases and properly check and exchange
cylinders on site in accordance with the trust and departmental
procedures.
Assist with the provision of clean linen to the ward.
Collect any items for disposal / condemned and transfer to correct
disposal area, including items for recycling.
Deliver and collect meal trucks to and from wards and departments, as per
the departmental policy.
Attend all Crash, Trauma and MET calls, ensuring that Crash Trolley,
medical gases and any other emergency equipment required is at location.
Attend all Fire calls including Pre alarms, completing reports as required.
Assist with cleaning of public ward areas when necessary.
Undertake cleaning of hospital equipment as required.
Assist with receiving, delivering and sorting of mail as required.
Assist with security for the unit ensuring that windows are closed at the
end of the day.
