Required from September 2024.
Due to the retirement of a long serving staff member Playbox Nursery, which operates under the umbrella of St John’s Methodist Church, is looking for an amazing Early Years Practitioner to be available from September 2024 to join our dedicated and happy team in this preschool setting.
The job is permanent and depending on numbers of children the hours are maximum of 29 and a minimum of 20 hours a week over 4 days, Monday to Thursday for 38 weeks a year (term time only). Salary will be discussed at interview depending on qualifications and experience
Playbox Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the job, including checks with past employers and an enhanced Disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service. Two references before interview will be requested on successful applicants.
Day to day duties include:
• Caring for children aged 2 to 5 years.
• Planning activities to meet individual children’s needs.
• Setting up the room for the day and tidying up at the end of the session
• Being responsible for contributing to children’s learning journeys and writing children’s reports .
• be a dedicated practitioner who wants to support preschool children to develop socially emotionally and intellectually
• have high expectations of learning and behaviour
• enjoy being part of a supportive, pro-active and energetic team
Person Specification includes:
• To have good working knowledge of the EYFS statutory standards and Safeguarding.
• Hold a minimum of level 2 OFSTED appropriate Childcare qualification or be in training.
• Experience of working with children in an engaging way.
• Able to work well within a team and show initiative.
• Be friendly, reliable, and have a flexible attitude
• Good interpersonal skills, being able to communicate well with peers, children’s parents/carers, and other professionals.
