Summary


We are looking for an energetic, innovative, forward thinking, and self-motivated clinician who has a background in Advanced Nurse practice and is an independent non-medical prescriber or working towards this qualification.

You will have experience of working autonomously under their own initiative and who can respond to rapidly changing service priorities within a primary and acute care setting. You will be expected to perform comprehensive assessment of patients with urgent presentations and develop working diagnosis and treatment plans whilst working without direct supervision.

The IUCRS is an evolving and constantly developing team incorporating the following areas: Urgent Community Response (UCR), the cleric ambulance system (working in conjunction with EEAST), virtual wards, in reach into the Integrated Rapid Assessment service (IRAS) based in the Emergency Department Colchester General Hospital, Unplanned Community Nursing and OPAT IV antibiotic service.

The role involves travelling throughout North East Essex delivering, assessing, and treating patients in their own homes, within 2 hours, as a part of IUCRS Urgent Community Response Team (UCR).

A developmental role would be considered for band 6 nurses with appropriate relevant experience who are looking to develop their career.

The role of the advanced practitioner is dynamic, and you will need to be proactive in developing this role further in response to challenges within advanced practice. You will have an important role in integrating policy, education, practice development and research relevant to the needs of the patients, staff, and students. If successful, you will be supported in your development as an advanced practitioner by having a mentor and a robust appraisal process with allocated time for continuing professional development.

You must hold a relevant qualification with community experience or other comparable/transferable skills. You should have a good understanding and knowledge of relevant legislation and treatment methods used in this specialist field and be adaptable to change and embrace innovation. The IUCRS team is a multi-disciplinary team based in Kennedy House Clacton-On-Sea, with other bases in Colchester. Our team delivers high quality care, 08:00 – 20:00 7 day a week within the Northeast Essex community. We will offer individually tailored induction, training, and support for if you are successful.A car driver is essential.
