Summary


Ward 3A Coronary Care Unit is recruiting for Band 5 nurses to join our nursing team.

Our Coronary Care Unit is a dynamic forward thinking unit and provides the ideal opportunity for both experienced cardiac nurses to further develop cardiac and leadership skills and an opportunity for those looking to start a career in cardiology.

Applicants will need to have one year post registration experience.

Applicants should be able to:
• Demonstrate an understanding of acute nursing, preferably experience within cardiology.
• Display effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Deliver high quality patient focused care.
• Commit to improving clinical practice.
• Share in personal and staff development.

Part of the country’s largest Heart centre the unit cares for a wide variety of cardiology patients including those admitted through our busy emergency Heart attack and Arrhythmia pathways. Successful candidates will gain experience caring for patient requiring Level 2 critical care support including CPAP, inotropic and Intra-aortic balloon pump therapy.

Education, training and development are an important philosophy of the units and access is provided to courses both in-house and at partner universities. 3A is lucky enough to have their own dedicated teaching Sister who supports all staff in their development and works closely with new starters.

The aim of this post is to provide direct patient care and enhance the well- being of patients by developing specific clinical competencies and enhancing knowledge through a lifelong learning approach
