Summary

We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer who will be responsible for the design and development of new and bespoke products from concept to market launch. You will lead in the delivery of key project milestones, ensuring all project tasks are completed in a timely manner. You will take charge in providing technical support to all stakeholders, ensuring all product requirements have been met and facilitating a smooth transition into production.

What you’ll be doing

Lead new product development projects in line with the approved stage gate process
Plan, allocate and manage all project tasks to ensure completion within the agreed timescales
Produce and supervise the production of all project technical drawings, using 3D CAD modelling and 2D drawings
Prototype designs and manage the preparation of test samples
Generate test plans to validate the product; coordinate all tests to ensure the product design satisfies the relevant standards
Analyse test results and make conclusions to decide on the next steps
Produce and maintain all project documentation including test records, test reports and design documentation in a manner described in the QA procedures
Work closely with the CMP certification engineering team; provide full support with schedule drawings and oversee third party witness tests to achieve product certification
Create and supervise the creation of all the parts lists/bill of materials in line with QA procedures
Coordinate with the production teams to ensure all components are designed for manufacture / assembly and confirm cost targets have been achieved
Provide technical support to the product management / sales teams in terms of product information, problem solving and application training when required
Have familiarity with and work in accordance with all quality assurance systems operated within CMP

Who we’re looking for

To apply, we ask that you have a suitable qualification in engineering along with several years’ experience working in a research and development role, as well as previous experience assigning tasks to others and guiding a team to project completion.

We are looking for someone who has a proven track record in creating innovative solutions and is an expert with 3D CAD modelling / producing 2D technical drawings. We are also looking for someone who has good technical knowledge working with tight tolerances. A good understanding of manufacturing techniques, in particular high volume turned; milled and moulded parts would also be desirable.

We ask that you are a ‘hands on’ engineer with the ability to demonstrate previous experience prototyping and validating product designs. As the senior engineer, you will be expected to meticulously plan and manage the validation of the product. You will also have the ability to conduct testing and guide others to work to the test plan.
