Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Trust. We are recruiting to the position of Health, Safety & Security Advisor to join a dynamic team in delivering advice and support in relation to Health, Safety & Security.
The successful applicant will act as one of the Trust's 'competent persons' with regards to Health, Safety and Security at work, providing an advisory service to all levels of staff within the Trust on matters of Health & Safety Legislation and Practice. Assisting in the development of effective arrangements for the identification and control of exposure to risk.
• Work closely with the Head of Health, Safety & Security and wider team to support Managers across the Trust to ensure Health & Safety Practices are managed effectively.
• Provide advice and a resource on safety, risk and quality improvement methodology and delivery.
• Support localities in the delivery of good incident and risk management processes.
• Contribute to the management of the system processes that support incident reporting and risk management ensuring compliance with external and legal requirements.
• Champion and promote quality and safety as a key focus within the Trust and across the health system to improve productivity and effectiveness.
• Develop, implement, and report on a programme of health and safety inspections and audits.
• Develop and maintain in depth working knowledge of key health and safety areas such as Display Screen Equipment, Fire Safety, Asbestos, Legionnaires, Manual Handling, Workplace Safety.
• Support the team in work towards the NHS Violence, Prevention & Reduction Standards, as well as ensuring Security Incidents/Breaches are publicised appropriately.
The members of the Health, Safety & Security Team are located throughout the six counties of the East of England and work from both our offices based, at various regional headquarters, as well as from home. This flexibility is of great benefit to support our staff across the Trust and team members and is agreed directly with line management. The role will require travel to different sites.
