Summary

This exciting opportunity involves leading, developing, delivering, and evaluating all aspects of Pharmacy staff education and training, along with associated performance and outcomes within our client's Pharmacy Department.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic leadership to training programs in Pharmacy, ensuring alignment with Department of Health, Heath Education England (HEE), and the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) requirements.Lead, develop, and implement changes in the pre-registration trainee programme, rotational foundation pharmacist program (including the Clinical Pharmacy Diploma), and pre-registration trainee technician programme.Offer professional leadership and advice on all Pharmacy training and development matters, preparing strategic plans for Pharmacy training and development.Deliver a highly specialised clinical pharmacy service to promote safe, rational, and cost-effective use of medicines.Manage the Education and Training Team, including Band 7 Education and Training Pharmacist and Band 7 Education and Training Lead Technician, overseeing the training of various staff members such as Trainee Pharmacists, Foundation Pharmacists, Diploma Practitioners, Pre-registration Trainee Technicians, Registered Technicians, Junior Doctors, and Nurses.
Essential criteria

  • MPharm Degree and GPhC registration
  • PGDip
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of clinical pharmacy, educational theory, clinical governance, multidisciplinary teamwork, IT systems, and current NHS issues.
  • Familiarity with local and national priorities.


Desirable criteria

  • MSc, IP certification, and clinical specialist expertise.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in education and training services, teaching and learning styles, management skills, and leadership abilities.
