Summary


Are you an experience nurse with management experience, who would like to progress in your career?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Sister/ Charge Nurse to join our friendly and energetic team on Robert Tiffany Ward.
Robert Tiffany ward is an adult Private care ward with 14 rooms. We have a unique blend of patients with solid and haematological malignancies receiving a range of treatment modalities. These include, surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, stem cell returns/transplants and patients requiring symptom control as part of their treatment.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and clinical skills and enjoy working as part of a team.

As a Sister/Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for the care, delivery and nursing management of the ward, including the supervision of staff. You will be supporting an experienced nursing team to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of specialist care to ensure that patients are cared for in a safe, caring, and comfortable environment. This will include meeting their holistic needs by effectively communicating with the wider multi-disciplinary team, patients, and their families.

If you are a senior registered nurse with oncology and management background and have a passion for exceptionally high standards of patient care this could be the role for you.

To create and maintain a safe, therapeutic clinical environment for all patients and their families who come to Robert Tiffany ward.

To co-ordinate all functions and activities proactively within Robert Tiffany, working closely with Matron and other Sisters

To manage resources of clinical area within budgetary limitations e.g. Finance, equipment and staff (including temporary staff)

To provide strong clinical leadership to the nursing and health care support workers that is motivating, supportive and sets clear boundaries resulting in a high quality safe patient care.

Working closely with School of Nursing and Practice Educators team to support a clinical learning environment that enables nursing staff to develop professionally and promotes the use of evidence in practice.

Manage a co-ordinated nursing service in liaison with all members of the multi-disciplinary team maximising high quality patient care.

To maintain clinical credibility through practice and to utilise the findings of nursing research and evidence based care to optimise high quality patient care.

To monitor and review nursing practice regularly, participating in audits and data gathering using trust information systems in accordance with Trust policy and NMC Guidelines.

To maintain the continuity of quality nursing care that responds flexibly to patients’ and carers’ needs and includes a safe discharge to the community or relevant care setting.

Monitoring of trends and prevalence’s of clinical incidents according to the Trust’s Clinical

Governance Guidance and Directives and develop strategies to prevent them reoccurring.
