Summary

An opportunity has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Audiologist to cover 12 months maternity leave, working 37.5 hours per week. The role will involve working Monday - Friday with the occasional Saturday morning. You will hold a BSc (Audiology) or equivalent and a Certificate of Clinical Competence (Audiology). Applicants who have been practising more than 12 months would be expected to be RCCP registered.

This vacancy is open to all internal / external candidates. NHS Employees should ideally secure their manager’s agreement for a secondment arrangement ideally prior to applying, as this will be a condition of any offer made. This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term basis as it has been established to provide maternity cover for 12 months or when the substantive post holder returns. Whilst this post is advertised on an acting / secondment basis there is the potential that this post may become permanent in the future.

Your main duties will include routine audiology work e.g., direct referral hearing aid assessments, the fitting and verification of hearing aids including open ear fits, follow ups, repairs, reassessments, and ENT clinics.

The department also offers a tinnitus counselling service, vestibular assessments, Learning Disability clinics and complex needs clinics. As a valued member of our team you will have the opportunity to contribute and to develop your skills in these areas.
