Your new opportunity

Rivendell Children's Service is currently recruiting full time, permanent Intensive Support Practitioners offering 37.5 hours per week. Rivendell is a registered care home for children and is set in an idyllic location Quarriers Village and currently supports 4 children 24/7who have different support needs such as autism & ADHD. Some of the children are non-verbal and have complex sensory needs and experienced trauma in their young lives and the team work to ensure a safe, calm and nurturing environment is maintained for all, where children can thrive and live their best lives.

As an Intensive Support Practitioner you will:

Work as a team or at times on a 1:2:1 basis with each child.
Able to use your expertise and adapt support to meet the needs of each individual.
Support children & young people offering different experiences from taking the children out for the day to enjoy activities and hobbies they express and interest in.
Support individuals in their day-to-day life including cooking, promoting health & wellbeing and assisting with personal care.
Respond appropriately to possible signs of distressed behavour and emergency situations.
Working pattern: This is a full time permanent role working 37.5 hour per week. Shifts are 7.5 hours per day and you will be required to work various shift patterns to meet the needs of the people we support. These will include early shifts 7am – 2:30pm, late shifts 2pm – 9:30pm and will include working weekends on a rotational basis.

What you will need to be considered

Essential you hold an SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) and HNC. (Please note having both is a requirement, if you do not hold both you must hold 1 and prepared to work towards achieving the other within an agree period)
Experience and knowledge of working with children & families in a similar setting.
Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written to support recording and reporting
Willing to develop and learn where required to support and adapt care based on individual needs.
Ability to offer support to Children, Families and young People including enable rights and deliver person centred care and trauma informed approaches.
Flexible and reliable
Due to the idyllic location of the service a driver is desirable with access to their own transport.
