Summary

Supporting people to be themselves in their own homes, with those they love, is what we love doing.

If you are a compassionate and dedicated speech and language therapist, who loves working in a team and are motivated by meaningful, holistic rehabilitation and care which is centered around client’s wishes and life roles, then we’d love you to come and join us.

These two rotational roles are with our Community Integrated Neuro and Stroke Services (CINSS) and our Adult Community Speech and Language Therapy Team. On each 6 month rotation you will be part of dynamic, integrated teams of experienced therapists with specialist knowledge and skills.

As part of these supportive and interactive teams you will use your creativity and imagination to make a difference to people living with and adapting to their changed lives. You may be recently qualified, fancy a change in career direction, or are returning to practice. We will offer you the opportunity to develop your skills and experiences in delivering effective, clinically reasoned interventions to make a positive difference to people’s lives.

For more information on this role please see the attached supporting information.

These posts will help you broaden your clinical practice and challenge your ways of working in a range of conditions and environments, including supporting group therapy, specialist clinics, and working with the wider MDT including: physiotherapists, occupational therapists, clinical psychologists, dieticians and our assistant workforce.

The CINSS is an interdisciplinary team who support people to receive ongoing specialist neurological therapy and rehabilitation at home following a diagnosis of brain or spinal cord injury. We are fully embedded in the newly centralised Coventry and Warwickshire Stroke Pathway and work collaboratively to deliver a client centered, goal focused, and outcome led approach to rehabilitation and support.

The Adult Community Speech and Language Therapy service provides assessment and treatment to clients with a wide range of needs: swallowing, speech, language, voice and stammering due to a range of neurological, developmental and acute medical causes. We work in settings such as outpatient clinics, care homes and client’s homes and offer virtual appointments. We work closely with people with communication or swallowing difficulty, carers and families, care home staff, psychologists, GPs, dieticians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and many other health professionals to provide holistic care for clients.

At Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT), we deliver a wide range of physical, mental health, learning disability and autism services, and are proud to serve communities across Coventry, Warwickshire and beyond.

We put ‘people at our heart’; this ethos is at the centre of everything we do and how we do it. We care for our staff and colleagues as much as they care for others and offer a wide range of benefits and development opportunities.

These include:
• 12-month preceptorship
• generous annual leave entitlement which increases during your time with us
• flexible working opportunities
• excellent learning and development opportunities, including apprenticeship frameworks, distance learning, internal training, coaching and mentoring, and much more
• salary sacrifice schemes for lease car/ vehicle, Cycle to Work, home and electronics, gym membership and more
• discounts with a range of retailers, restaurants and entertainment venues through our Employee Assistance Programme and NHS discount schemes
• wellbeing support, including an in-house counselling service, external helpline and more
• staff networks and support groups

We’re always on the lookout for people who share our passion for improving the lives and wellbeing of people in our community, as well as our values of compassion, collaboration, excellence, integrity and respect.

If you’d like to chat or set up a visit we would love to hear from you.

Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT) has taken the decision to no longer continue to provide Adult Physical Community Services, as there are more suitable providers within the wider NHS local system.

Following a review of suitable providers to take forward the contract, the Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) has confirmed its intention to award the contract for the provision of Adult Physical Community Services to University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW). This change is anticipated to take effect from 1stJuly 2024.

Your application to work in Adult Physical Community Services will not be adversely impacted by the change in provider. Should you commence employment prior to the transfer, your contract of employment (that is your terms and conditions of service as at the point of transfer) will automatically transfer to the new organisation, under the "Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006" (TUPE) as amended by the "Collective Redundancies and Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) (Amendment) Regulations 2014".

Should you commence employment after the transfer, your contract of employment will be issued by the new provider of Adult Physical Community Services.
