Due to additional funding an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Speech & Language Therapist to join our innovative community-based team working across Coventry.

This is a role predominantly working in specialist provisions across this city. This would include special schools and Enhanced Resource Bases. You would be providing assessment and intervention for children and young people with aspects of the role also including training for parents and education staff .

You will also have some service wide responsibilities and would offer clinical and caseload support to less experienced colleagues. The Children’s Speech & Language Therapy Team aims to provide a high-quality service to children, young people and their families. We provide assessment, interventions, advice and support to children and young people aged 0-19 with a Coventry GP. We also support children in Coventry schools with an Education, Health & Care Plan. We have developed clinical pathways and a competency programme in a variety of clinical areas including Speech, Language, Voice, Fluency, Dysphagia, Hearing Impairment, Cleft Palate, Alternative & Augmentative Communication and young children “At Risk” of SLCN.

We are committed to professional development and evidence-based practice, offering regular in-service CPD days and peer group clinical supervision. Mentoring and management supervision are also provided as well as support from more experienced therapists. Internal and external training courses are supported.

Being a member of a large Speech and Language Therapy team of SLTs and Assistants and close working with Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy colleagues gives opportunities for lots of different clinical and training experiences.
