MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties of the Clinical Research Fellow post holder The main duties of the post holder are to develop a research project related to the improved understanding and treatment of Parkinsons disease and related conditions through neurogenetics. This research fellowship was set up based on a bequest from Dr Janet Owens, a Royal Free alumnus. The primary role of the appointee will be Investigation of the genetic basis of Parkinsons disease and related Movement Disorders In addition Carry out clinical study assessments Prepare reports of study progress Deliver poster and oral presentations at National and International meetings Carry out and publish systematic reviews relating to aspects of Parkinsons and movement disorders genetics Develop clinical skills in movement disorders, taking advantage of the teaching and learning opportunities at the UCL Movement Disorders Centre Develop one or more research projects depending on the interests and skills of the successful applicant Across the centre, we can support further research based on: clinical trial, disease biomarkers, cell models, pharmacogenomics. Development opportunities There are extensive opportunities for personal development in the Neurology departments of the Royal Free Hospital, National Hospital for Neurology and UCL Movement Disorders Centre. It is anticipated that the successful candidate would either already hold a National Training Number in Neurology or apply for an NTN in the final year of their appointment.
