Home, a place where you belong

Want to be part of a team that really cares and empowers you to help change a customer’s life for the better? As our Support Coordinator leading on customer activities and engagement, you’ll be at the heart of supporting our customers to develop their skills and confidence to live independently.

This is a new role, so you really do have a chance to make your mark in it! The success of the first six months will determine whether we decide to make the role permanent.

You will be working as part of the team for Mary Rose Court which sits within Basingstoke Social Inclusion Pathway. We provide accommodation and support for customers who have been or are at risk of homelessness.

Typical day as a Lead Support Worker

  • Talking and listening to customers individually and in small groups about their experiences and about what activities could increase their confidence and skills.

  • Building on these to recommend ways we can improve service delivery.

  • Using the tools that Home Group have to enhance customer experience such as our Home Achievement programme and LIFE support planning to meet these.

  • Facilitating other activities that customers suggest. This could be around cooking, playing board games, starting special interest groups or going on local walks but you will decide this in collaboration with them!

  • Supporting colleagues to complete risk assessments, support plans, goal setting and regular reviews reflecting the work you are doing.

Fancy going home each day knowing that you have helped change our customers lives for the better? You’ll do that here, working for one of the top ten Great Place to Work in the UK!

You bring

  • Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working collaboratively with the team

  • An interest in customers who have experienced homelessness and the commitment to them as a customer group to want to really engage with them

  • The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach

Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role.  This remains under regular review

Our team

Looking for a job where you really belong? Where you can be, well you! Bring your uniqueness, brilliant skills and awesome experience to deliver amazing things for our customers. You’ll join our team, who come from different walks of life and are here to support you as you make yourself at Home!

Job details

  • We are open to you suggesting 21 hours a week that will work for you within the understanding that as this is very much a customer facing role we want you to be available when our customers are most likely to engage which tends to be anytime from late morning onwards.

  • This is a 24/7 service so the hours we agree can include weekends and evenings if this suits you.

  • You will need to be able to use technology for creating and updating support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.

  • You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.

A place where you belong

Great things happen when we can be ourselves at work. We want all our colleagues to be who they truly are here. Our internal diversity networks, peers and allies (Multicultural, LGBTQIA+ and Disability) support us all to be our best. Together we make Home Group a great place to work!
