Summary


This post within Paediatric ENT will provide clinical support at Post CCT Fellow level, working closely with the existing Specialty Trainees, under the supervision of the consultants. The successful applicant will be required to demonstrate that they have successfully completed a higher training programme in ENT and are committed to the development of a sub-specialist interest in Paediatric ENT. The Fellowship is open to international and UK senior trainees.



Ward Work includes: Supporting the specialty trainees to conduct daily ward rounds including the assessment, investigation and management of Tertiary and Secondary level Paediatric ENT surgical cases.

Theatre Work includes: The post holder will have opportunity to be further trained in a wide range of Paediatric ENT surgical procedures, including airway endoscopy, airway reconstruction, major head and neck surgery, otology and cochlear implantation, with additional responsibility for pre- and post- operative care of patients.

Outpatient Work includes: The post holder will have an opportunity to assess patients under direct supervision of senior staff as well as undertaking autonomous outpatient clinics.

Administration / Teaching: The Fellow will be involved in undergraduate teaching and postgraduate teaching, an important part of the unit's workload.

Research: The Fellow will be given the opportunity to contribute to the vibrant research programme ran within the department.

There is an on-call commitment with a 1:12 weekday and 1:6 weekend, which may be subject to change based on number of individuals in post.
