Summary


We wish to appoint a clinician to the post of Clinical Research Fellow based at the MFT campus, Wythenshawe Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary (part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust). The Clinical Research Fellow will support research studies in critical care and acute respiratory medicine including sepsis, pneumonia and other acute respiratory infections. The successful candidates will have the opportunity gain experience in clinical Critical Care.

The post-holder will undertake a range of interventional, complex studies, supporting delivery of commercial and academic studies. The post will be based within the Acute Intensive Care Unit at Wythenshawe Hospital, with cross site working required at the Oxford Road Campus. This will be to provide medical cover across the Vaccine research trial portfolio at MFT. The successful candidate will be supported and mentored through Wythenshawe hospital, with supervision provided by research active consultants. The candidate will be required to work across the MFT campus supporting urgent public health research within vaccine studies.

Duties will include:
• Confirming if participants are eligible for inclusion into research studies according to the study protocol
• Gaining informed consent
• Assessing, responding and reporting adverse events
• Performing medical examination of participants
• Liaising with principal investigators
• Providing medical cover for study visits
• Working alongside senior facility delivery team and assessing all aspects of study feasibility and risk.
