Crynodeb
The role of Station Senior SHEP Advisor will include:
Act as senior advisor to the HoE for all Station Health and Safety and Environmental Protection matters, including radiation safety.
Investigation of potential hazards in the workplace and complaints by personnel relating to Health and Safety issues.
Prohibit any work activity which is considered to involve an imminent risk of serious injury.
Provision of advice and assistance to all personnel and assist Line Managers in the development of effective preventative measures and improved safe working practices as part of their risk assessments.
Ensure timely communications of safety alerts or other pertinent safety information across the site.
Maintenance of accident reports, accident investigation, and notification to MOD and regulatory authorities.
Review and assist in the production of risk assessments for safe place or safe systems of work.
Conduct Health & Safety inspections and audits of places of work and related processes as applicable.
Manage inspection visits from outside agencies and act as point of contact and escort to visiting HSE Inspectors.
Ensure suitable resource from within the team is allocated to CO Inspection Rounds
Attend Station level meetings as directed for provision of specialist advice and ensure appropriate information is compiled as required.
Conduct all necessary risk action/ management as applicable.
Act as 4Cs Accountable Person.
Manage the approval, co-ordination and recording of Health, Safety & Environmental Protection training for all personnel.
Control and management of the Safety, Health & Environment Protection Manual and other pertinent local policies.
Carry out Noise Assessments as required.
Liaise with the Air Safety Centre as applicable.
Manage the content on the Safety Health and Environment Intranet Webpage.
Act as Co-ordinator of HSE Managing Work Related Stress, includes attending Health & Wellbeing Meetings with Station Executives.
Ensure that RAF Cosford Air Show has an allocated and dedicated Safety Advisor for all ground activities
They will also be responsible for carrying out all Line Management duties for the SHEP Team and will support OC OSW as required.
