Summary


This is an exciting opportunity within The Childrens Hospital Therapy team, at QMC campus to support maternity leave.You will be working alongside another Outpatient Administrator Monday- Friday in supporting the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy OP department.

You will work Monday to Friday 8:30-4:30. However on alternate months the Wednesday pattern will be 10am - 6pm to support late clinics.

We are looking for someone who has excellent customer service skills and is committed to providing a first class service.

You will be a conscientious and enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational skills.

You will need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality issues, be well motivated and reliable.

You will be able to understand and accurately convey verbal and written information and be able to remain calm under pressure.

You will use your own initiative and respond to queries within and outside of the Organisation with a professional manner to patients, relatives and staff.

You will present a professional and polite attitude at all times.

The post holder will be required to work within the Childrens Therapy Department covering Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy and take responsibility for:

Administrating and receiving referral letters,

Email referrals, electronic and other internal referrals,

Maintaining out-patient appointment waiting lists,

Using judgement and initiative to schedule out-patient appointments in accordance with Trust waiting list targets,

Handling associated telephone calls, for the specialties.

Close liaison with Managers within the Therapies and Rehabilitation Directorate, patients, hospital administrative and clinical staff will be necessary in order to provide a prompt and quality patient focused service.

Answering patient queries by phone and email

Registering new patients

Processing of Legal requests

Management of team email inboxes

Liaising with colleagues and clinical staff to amend diaries

General administration of Outpatient Clinics
