Summary
SMART Home Entertainment/Structured Cabling Engineer | Based in Wickford Essex and working in London and the South East | Full Time | Starting at £30,000 (Salary Increase after successful probation period)
Formed in 2001, our client has evolved over the last 20 years to specialise in discreet and semi-discreet audio-visual systems.
They have developed a unique set of skills in the pursuit of invisible audio excellence. The team can not only design and specify systems, but they can install them as well!
This is a perfect opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join a specialist Audio Visual Distribution company selling and installing high-end equipment into the most stunning residential and commercial properties around the UK primarily London and the South-East.
This role may possibly suit a candidate coming from the wet trades looking for a change of career.
Are you the right person for the job?
• Technically competent with aptitude and interest in consumer electronics, specifically Audio Visual and smart home applications
• Interpersonal skills appropriate for interfacing with various construction trades on-site and high net-worth individuals
• Computer literate with the desire and ability to learn optimization skills for sound in real real-life environment
• DIY skills beneficial
• Ability to work at heights and obtain ECS site cards (if not already held) for installation visits to commercial and residential building sites.
• CEDIA Training for Structured cable/network and Home Cinema Design will be provided
• Quick learner
• Client Facing and must be presentable
• Educational background in technology preferred
• Clean Driving Licence
• Note there will be a 3 months probation period
• Current ECS card is desirable but not essential
• Some plastering experience would be beneficial but this is not essential
• Other related experience is considered
What will your role look like?
• Specialise in fitting invisible speakers
• Structured Cabling
• You will be installing multi-room audio and surround solutions (i.e. Dolby Atmos), including wiring and testing, visible and invisible speakers offering full white glove installation services to clients
• Other duties will include client liaison, stock management, custom grill manufacture for speakers and, for suitable candidates, running client demos together with broader contributions to the business

• Obtain formal CEDIA qualifications for Smart Home engineers, opening up a wealth of opportunities in this specialist dynamic industry
• To become a lead engineer on site for “white glove” installations in prestigious projects
