A Vacancy at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Following a skill mix review, we have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic Band 4 to join a friendly and forward thinking Outpatient Physiotherapy department.
This Band 4 Therapy Assistant post is full time, 37.5 hours per week, and is based at our Jacketts Field, Abbots Langley site.
The successful candidate will be supported by a Band 7/6 qualified Physiotherapist through a well-established probation, supervision and appraisal process.
Robust training support will be provided. We also offer in-service training opportunities and your existing experience will be further developed in both 1:1 and class/group based clinical activities.
There are also opportunities for paid study leave and/or course funding both internally/externally.
In addition, whilst very hard working, we are a sociable department committed to the health and wellbeing of our staff. We have a comprehensive Special Leave Policy, a Well-being Champion on site, Spiritual and pastoral support and links to Vivup Employee Assistance Programme.

You will be working in a busy, friendly outpatient department where you will be:-
Assessing, treating, progressing and discharging routine MSK patients – trauma and elective post-operative orthopaedic presentations.
You will be running group exercise sessions – for example TKR classes, lower limb classes, wrist classes.
You will also help support our qualified staff in joint treatment sessions, as an when appropriate.

To treat own caseload of patients in the MSK Outpatient Physiotherapy setting; according to set treatment protocols, monitor progression, and make alterations to patients treatment programmes as and when required.
To use clinical reasoning to utilise a range of assessment and treatment skills to formulate treatment programmes.
To work unsupervised regularly and report back progress or change from expected findings to a qualified therapist.
To actively participate in seven day working including weekend working reflecting the needs of the service, if/once this is implemented within the Outpatient Physiotherapy setting.
