The Main Duties/Responsibilities: To provide skilled and culturally sensitive interpreting for families within the service and support clients to access local services and facilities whilst working alongside members of the Health Visiting/School Nursing Locality Teams. To undertake lone working under the direction of the Health Visitor/School Nurse and to discuss actions and interventions completed with the clients to ensure understanding e.g. attending appointments and reducing Was not brought. To develop supportive relationships with clients in order to promote accessibility of services and treat all information to do with client and health information as confidential. For workers to develop a rapport and acceptance within the Pakistan/Indian or Arabian communities and to foster quality relationships and to deal sensitively with clients using well-developed interpersonal and communication skills. Participate in health promotion activities with a view to building community capacity through community engagement activities e.g. smoke harm reduction and tackling childhood obesity.
