Summary


We are excited to offer the opportunity for an experienced and dedicated radiographer professional to take up the post of CT Radiographer Principal. The role of CT Radiographer Principal has responsibility for overseeing the CT services at Scarborough Hospital. In the next year a CDC development including CT scanning will be completed and this CT scanner will also come under within the post holders responsibility.

You will join our radiology leadership team at an exciting time and will have a unique opportunity to influence the design and expansion of services across the North Yorkshire region as part of the national Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) strategy.

York & Scarborough Hospital radiology has a well-established structure for speciality principal radiographers and supporting staff who manage their own speciality but also work collaboratively as a team to drive innovation and quality across radiology.

As a teaching hospital we work closely with university colleagues to develop the next generation of radiographer. We currently take students from Leeds university and apprenticeships from Teesside for both associate practice and Radiography degree courses.

Working closely with the radiography AHP lead and clinical education teams you will work collaboratively to shape the future of radiographer and support worker education, assisting the expansion of current and new roles.

As a principal radiographer you will have a pivotal role to bring clinical knowledge and skills, supporting the operational team in the planning of CDC developments within the region. The ability to work collaboratively and interact within multi-professional diverse teams is essential when working across the ICS with Humber and North Yorkshire (HNY) imaging network colleagues.

The role is a mix of both managerial and clinical and there is opportunity to maintain clinical skills in a supernumerary role within the department.

The ability to support the radiographer team in a practical clinical setting and managerial strategic role is key to the success of the role.

As principal you will work closely with the operational team to develop business plans, inform policy and strategy within the department drawing on the knowledge and skills gained as a radiographer.

You must have a degree or equivalent qualification in Diagnostic Radiography, and be registered with the HCPC. Applicants should have recent NHS experience and significant experience of HR processes and project management.
