Stroud High School is an outstanding girls grammar school (Ofsted 2023) dedicated to providing unparalleled academic education. Central to its development priorities is a robust digital strategy interwoven into every aspect of its growth. The network infrastructure and services provided by the network team are fundamental to the successful execution of this strategy.
We are embarking upon an exciting phase, and there is no better time to join us than now, particularly as we seek a dynamic individual to step into the role of Network Manager. This individual will spearhead the technical implementation of our new device-per-student initiative, set to commence in September 2024 with Year 12 students. These students will embark on a new phase of learning, equipped with 2-in-1 devices and utilizing MS OneNote in their lessons. This initiative aims to provide personalised learning experiences and better prepare our students for the digital demands of the modern world. This BYOD provision for Year 12 will pave the way for the program's expansion to selected KS3 and KS4 year groups in the following academic year with school-managed devices, ensuring consistency and ease of management.
Moreover, our commitment to providing a cutting-edge digital environment is further underscored by the imminent deployment of a brand-new Wi-Fi system across our school site in the summer of 2024.
We are really excited by this transition and the educational opportunities it opens up for our teachers and students. We seek a skilled Network Manager to oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of our network infrastructure and device per student provision. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise in network management, a passion for education and a commitment to providing a seamless digital learning environment for our students and staff.
Your knowledge, self-motivation, effective time management, and excellent interpersonal skills will make you a key figure and contact point for the school's IT provision. The Network Manager role is key in enabling us to deliver a device-per-student learning provision to over 1000 students and 100 staff while ensuring the security and stability of our IT systems.
The post holder will be required to work flexibly, e.g. outside of normal office hours or at weekends, to be reactive to out-of-hour requirements, e.g. IT system failures or IT upgrades.
We are committed to the ongoing development of all of our staff and full training will be provided, relevant to the skills and aptitudes of the person appointed. We welcome applications from experienced network managers or a senior technician wishing to progress to the next stage of their career. Please contact the school should you wish to visit. The application process closes midday on Friday 19 April with interviews taking place the following week.
