National Mental Health First Aid Trainer
About Transpire
Transpire deliver Mental Health First Aid and awareness training to schools, organisations and individuals. Our mission is to give people and organisations the tools and knowledge to create lasting change through purpose driven mental health support strategies.
We support our delegates beyond their initial training with development opportunities through webinars, workshops and peer to peer support opportunities.

Package
Salary: Starting basic at £30,000 - £37,000, pro rata and depending on qualifications and experience.
Holiday: 25 days per year with an extra day for every year with us, capped at 30 days.
Hours: 08:00 – 17:00 Monday – Friday. Part-time also considered.
Location: Hybrid; Field based, office, home and online.
Professional development: CPD training budget of £500 per year to spend on suitable courses which relate to your work.
Travel: When required, is fully paid on expenses including mileage, hotel, and food allowances
Equipment: All training equipment is provided
We would also welcome applications from suitably qualified applicants who are interested in alternative hours, e.g. a three day work week or freelance training opportunities. All requests for flexible working arrangements and reasonable adjustments will be considered.
Trainer key duties and responsibilities
• Research and deliver engaging, easily digestible and thought provoking mental health training to groups both face to face and online.
• To facilitate webinars to audiences large and small, facilitate drop in Q&A sessions and one to one client catch up and drop-in sessions.
• Create and deliver short courses in mental health and well-being related topics.
• Represent and support the Director at client meetings, partner meetings, exhibitions and industry/networking events.
• Nurture relationships with Transpire delegates, clients, and suppliers.
• Provide creative input and practical support to the Director on product and general business development.
• Complete general course servicing admin (minimal).
• To always operate in line with Transpire values and implement our policies and standards.
• Maintain accurate records of all required documentation.
The Person
Transpire is a growing organisation that is looking for a team member to develop a passion for proactive mental health support provision In others and is keen to develop their skills.

Essential Skills
Due to the nature of the role which involves traveling around the UK, you must have a full valid driving license.
Qualifications: Hold a current Adult Mental Health First Aid Instructor qualification from Mental Health First Aid England. Additional certifications or qualifications related to mental health or teaching/training are desirable.
Experience: Minimum one years experience of delivering MHFA courses with a minimum of five deliveries with excellent feedback.
Mental Health Expertise: Have a deep understanding of mental health and well-being, with specific knowledge of the common mental health disorders, crisis intervention, self-care strategies, and have at least a basic understanding of UK legislation.
Teaching/Training Experience: Experienced in delivering training and educational courses to groups, related to mental health and well-being.
Exceptional Communication Skills: Communicate effectively and empathetically with diverse audiences, including individuals who may have current or past experiences of significant mental health challenges. Strong presentation skills, both in-person and online, with the ability to accommodate varying learning styles to engage and inspire learners. Ability to simplify concepts and bring the course material to life with real life examples, stories and a genuine passion for teaching.
Adaptability: Flexible to travel within Hertfordshire, Essex, London / Greater London / Surrey / East and West Sussex / Kent / Buckinghamshire / Oxfordshire or West Berkshire each week to deliver training sessions at numerous locations, including overnight stays. Comfortable in using online platforms such as Zoom and MS Teams for course deliveries.
Passion for Mental Health: Have a genuine passion and desire for raising mental health awareness and supporting individuals experiencing poor mental health and mental health crisis.
Personal growth: Keen appetite for self development and continued learning in mental health related topics, remaining current with developments in the field of mental health and wellbeing.
Desirable Skills
Qualifications: Hold a current CIPD qualification, degree in counselling, psychiatry or other qualifications related to mental health or teaching/training.
Experience: Occupational health experience.
Mental Health Expertise: Experience in supporting people with mental ill health in a range of different settings.
