An exciting opportunity has arisen for a psychological therapist, with significant clinical experience and BABCP accreditation, within Greenwich Time to Talk NHS Talking Therapies Service.

The successful applicant will support the provision of a well-established primary care talking therapies service for residents of Greenwich who are experiencing anxiety and depression.

The post holder will lead our interface with third sector providers. They will join the senior management team, contributing to service development and supporting service performance. They will be experienced in providing, training and supervision of talking therapies and will feel confident in consultation, referral management and liaison.

The successful candidate will provide supervision to qualified members of the team and offer evidenced based talking therapies. They will line manage staff and contribute to the overall service management, ensuring effectiveness, safety and efficiency.

The post holder will be expected to have sound referral management skills and a proven record of supervision experience, as they will be offering weekly referral management, supervision, training and consultation.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate liaison skills as will have a regular interface with other relevant services, including third sector therapy providers.

The post holder will be expected to carry out audit, evaluation and contribute to ongoing service development and innovation. As a senior therapist you will be expected to be involved in ongoing recruitment for the service and support a comprehensive induction for new staff members.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they can lead by example, performing within expected ethical boundaries and high standards of performance, as they will be disseminating their skills to others.

Greenwich Time to Talk (GTTT) is one of the best performing NHS Talking Therapies services within the country. The service is proud of its excellent staff retention, positive service user feedback and patient recovery rates.

Oxleas offers a wide range of NHS healthcare services to people in community and secure environment settings. Our services include community health care such as district nursing and speech and language therapy, care for people with learning disabilities and mental health care such as psychiatry, nursing and therapies. Our multidisciplinary teams look after people of all ages and we work in close partnership with other parts of the NHS, local councils and the voluntary sector and through our new provider collaboratives. Our 4,300 members of staff work in many different settings including hospitals, clinics, prisons, secure hospitals, children’s centres, schools and people’s homes.

We have over 125 sites in a variety of locations in the South of England. In London we operate within the Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley Greenwich and into Kent. We manage hospital sites including Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup and Memorial Hospital, Woolwich, as well as the Bracton Centre, our medium secure unit for people with mental health needs. We are the largest NHS provider of prison health services providing healthcare to prisons within Devon, Dorset, Bristol, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, Kent and South London. The successful candidate will join our team of experienced senior therapists, supporting service management and governance decisions. The post holder will understand service targets and be able to critically evaluate service data and patient feedback to support the continued outstanding performance of the service.

The post holder will demonstrate compassionate and enthusiastic leadership skills. They will be experienced in delivering and supervising evidenced based talking therapies and responsible for the line management and clinical supervision of CBT trainees and other psychological therapists.

The successful applicant will offer referral management and consultation to the wider team. In addition, they will be familiar with the organisation of mental health services and confident in networking, liaising and developing effective working relationships with relevant agencies and professionals.

The service is committed to increasing access to psychological therapies in a timely way. To support this, Greenwich Time to Talk has partnered with digital therapy services. The successful candidate will be able to work sensitively with digital service providers to ensure the quality, safety and efficiency of services offered.
