We are recruiting a Band 6 Radiographer role responsible for tuition of the Dental students in Imaging Techniques and Interpretation for the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - Dental hospital
This role will be to support management in the day to day services and staffing of the Dental x-ray department.
This role can either be split between Main X-ray and Dental Hospital (with participation in the shift rota) or a full time clinical tutor role in the Dental Hospital.
The post holders will also be given the opportunity to study for a PGCert in Teaching and Learning in Clinical Practice.
The post holder will:
Be responsible for high quality radiographic services.
Tuition of the Dental students in Radiographic imaging and Interpretation – Post graduate qualification will be supported
Supervision and coordination of the clinical team, performing imaging examinations at a consistently high technical and professional standard.
Support the Band 7 Lead Radiographer for Dental x-ray taking responsibility for the day to day activity within the department.
Assist with & support development of Band 5 Radiographers ensuring compliance with department protocols and procedures.
Ensuring QA, preventative maintenance and breakdown is completed and records are maintained.
Involvement in Audit, Research and Presentations.
Maintain correct patient records and statutory radiation records.
Ensure that the code of Practice for Radiation Safety, as drawn up in the Local Rules, is observed at all times, and report any breaches or problems concerning these rules to the Senior RPS / RPA.

Performance of clinical radiographic duties as delegated by the Lead in each section.
To participate in multi-disciplinary team working and the vetting of referrals.
To practice within the rules of the Health Professions Council.
To ensure effective communication with patients, carers and all health care professionals about all aspects of patient care.
Tuition and supervision of Dental students within Radiology.
Supervision and assistance in training of entry grade student radiographers, and band 5 radiographers setting high standards of radiography.
Ensuring a high standard of patient care.
Ensuring all staff rotating through the dental x-ray department are conversant with all day to day duties.
Organise and supervise workflow in the area.
Report and record faults on equipment as and when they occur.
To comply with IR(ME)R 2017 & IRR 2017.
Ensure radiation doses to every patient are as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) consistent with a diagnostic result.
Involvement in the setting of radiographic protocols and policies as required under the ionising regulations.
Perform regular QA on equipment in all areas of work
