The RLHIM is a centre for evidence-based practice, education and research, specialising in chronic and complex medical conditions. Our mission is to provide a person-centred, holistic approach, including self-care, in order to help people with chronic and complex medical conditions live well and feel better. All RLHIM services are outpatient-based and are staffed by experienced healthcare professionals.
The Children’s and Adolescent Service at the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine (RLHIM) requires an acupuncture practitioner, initially for two sessions (7.5h per week) to treat older children presenting with headache and / or chronic pain as their main complaint.
Essential Criteria:
• Candidates must be qualified healthcare professionals with current registration
• Candidates must have:
o Recognised training for Western Acupuncture (a minimum of the BMAS Foundation Course)
o Membership of BMAS with relevant CPD.
o A minimum of two years’ experience in acupuncture practice in the UK
o Professional experience in working with Children in healthcare, ideally within NHS services
o Level 2 Safeguarding training
Desirable Criteria:
• Professional experience in multidisciplinary team work
• Audit and research experience
• Understanding of clinical governance
• Ability to recognise complex or challenging scenarios and seek help appropriately
• Child Health related CPD
• Level 3 Safeguarding training
Two referees are required covering the person specification requirements.
