Summary

Housing Management Coordinator

Exeter (City Centre)

Permanent, full or part time (37.5 or 21 hpw)

Salary £24,664 per annum (pro rata), with great benefits including Health Cash Plan

Part time: Four-week rolling rota, working 1 x 11hr and 1 x 10.5hr shifts per week (working one in three weekends)

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Housing Management Coordinator to join our team here in ETAAS (Exeter Temporary Accommodation and Assessment Service). As a Housing and Property Guru, you’ll focus on enabling our customers to settle into ETAAS and complete a range of assessments, risk management plans and ultimately helping our customers to successfully maintain their future tenancy.

You will support our customers, ensuring their homes are safe and well maintained. By providing an intensive housing management service, as part of our team, you’ll support customers to manage and maintain their tenancy and rent accounts.

Typical day as a Housing Management Coordinator

  • Our customers come from a range of backgrounds, all customers are over 18 and have experienced homelessness.
  • Making sure that our customers rooms and the communal spaces are homes they can be proud of, you’ll support your customers by engaging and involving them in their licence agreements.
  • You’ll support our customers with housing benefit claims, making sure that these are received on their rent account.
  • Where there is a need, you’ll also issue and sign warning letters and notices which may lead to attending court. You will have an eye for detail and making clear concise records.
  • Actively ensuring rooms are ready for the next customer who needs our help and for maximum occupancy, you’ll turn around vacant or void rooms within set timescales.
  • Ensuring we are health and safety compliant and that maintenance standards are met.

You bring

  • Experience in managing a housing management caseload and overseeing landlord and housing management duties
  • Know-how of re-letting of rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed.
  • Able to take on a lead role within the team, offering guidance and support to your colleagues
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.
  • A “can do” positive attitude, you’re proactive and well organised, and able to work on your initiative.
  • Confident working collaboratively with colleagues in other parts of the business as well as with external partners

Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role.  This remains under regular review.

Our team

You’ll join our service manager Calvin and our newly formed ETAAS team in supporting customers rebuild their lives after periods of street homelessness or a breakdown in current accommodation. Calvin joined Home Group as a Support Co-ordinator, developing his skills and is now managing the service after a completing a secondment as part of our Grow Our Own.

He is passionate that with the right support and guidance we can ensure the most vulnerable people in society can receive person centred support.

Job details

  • Four-week rolling rota to include working one in every three weekends, working 1 x 11 hr and 1 x 10.5shifts per week
  • Based at our services in Exeter (2 x City Centre locations)
  • Passionate about supporting customers who need a helping hand to rebuild their lives.
  • Focus on Health and Safety compliance, keeping both services compliant with Home Group and National/Local legislation.
  • Able to use technology for creating and updating support plans, making benefit claims and doing tenancy signs ups.
  • You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
