TPS 77 Radar Engineer
Alnwick, NE66 2AXFull Time, Permanent (37 hours per week)
Salary dependent on experience £38,000
- £40,000 Serco Defence deliver a range of services and products to our customers and the MOD. Within this team, we are currently recruiting for a TPS77 Radars Engineer based at Brizlee Wood. You will help to maintain the TPS-77 Radar at Brizlee Wood radar ensuring that KPI targets, quality compliance, safety, continuous improvement and other contractual obligations are met at site.Main Accountabilities:
- Deliver 1st/ 2nd line Preventative maintenance on the TPS-77 Radar Systems
- Deliver 1st/ 3rd line Corrective maintenance on the TPS-77 Radar Systems
- Responsible for quality compliance, safety, continuous improvement and other contractual obligations are met with regards to the TPS-77 systems.
- Engaging with the relevant internal and external organisations and key stakeholders in order to build and maintain Serco’s reputation.
- Provide out of hours call out to support radar availability when required
- Maintain and review radar technical manuals
- Maintain and manage all tools and test equipment required to support TPS-77 system.
- Support the Site Technical Manger to maximise the overall system availability
- Spares management of the Brizlee Wood inventory
- Provide a site support to Lockheed Martin when required
- There will be a requirement to do a 2 month tour in the Falkland Islands every 18 – 24 months
- There may be a requirement to backfill other radar technicians at sites around the UK
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Holds recognised Electronics and electrical Qualification.
- At least 2 years TPS-77 radar experience
- Proven track record in maintaining the TPS-77 radar.
- Understanding RAF processes
- Proven track record of successful maintaining radar systems.
- Proven practical and pragmatic understanding of service delivery
