Grade: Band 6 Job Title: Occupational Therapist Ward/Dept: Ashurst Ward Location: Littlemore Hospital, Oxford, OX4 4XN Trust: Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week (part-time and flexible working available) Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday 9:00-17:00 Pay Rate: £21.80 per hour (agenda for change) The Role Thank you for your interest in this exciting role as a Mental Health Occupational Therapist in an Acute Neurosciences. We are seeking a cheerful and calming Occupational Therapist that is passionate about rehabilitating patients experiencing mental health crises to fulfil this exciting role. The Trust/Ward/Department Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides physical, mental health and social care across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath and North East Somerset. Their services are delivered across the community in hospitals, clinics, community bases and in patients homes, as they focus on delivering care as close to home as possible. Ashurst ward is an 11-bed PICU based at Littlemore Hospital with a multi-disciplinary team offering intensive psychiatric care. The ward offer you access to lots of resources to support your work, such a gym, music rooms or garden, as well as many different CPD opportunities the team are able to support you pursuing. The Responsibilities If you are successful in your application to this post, you will be expected to manage and deliver on the responsibilities outlined below as well as those not included here, call today to discuss further: Manage a varied caseload, progressing to include complex and at times highly complex cases. Providing occupational therapy services to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the outcome of intervention and document all stages Supervise junior or non-registered members of staff, and participate in the education of occupational therapy students Provide supervision of activity workers Participate and collaborate as a member within a multi-disciplinary team, including completing PEACE interventions You may be required to occasionally commute to different sites within the Trust or perform home visits of patients To be successful in applying for this role you will need: Degree level qualification in Occupational Therapy To be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team NHS experience PEACE or equivalent training PMVA/Control and restraint training. Experience or interest in working within acute mental health Desire for candidates to community or crisis OT experience Job description Job description can be provided upon request.
