YMCA Fairthorne Manor offers a unique outdoor activity venue set in the heart of the countryside. Considered one of Hampshire’s hidden gems, the 94 acre site comprises sweeping grounds, mature woodland, a lake and access to the upper reaches of the River Hamble. We provide a wide range of programmes on site, including high quality nursery care for children aged 0-5yrs, school holiday Daycamps, residential programmes for groups, a family campsite and community activities.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Birthday party host, ensuring a memorable experience
  • Delivering our community programmes, such as lake and river hire, jumping pillow and aqua slide.
  • Delivery of our woodland based Treetots programme for parents and toddlers under 5
  • Supporting our campsite operations, including fire pit and barbeque hire, reception duties, cleaning and litter picking
  • Supporting the delivery of our family programmes including Family Adventure Weekend
  • Supporting fundraising events including car parking, sign-in and activity delivery
  • Supporting other Fairthorne Manor departments including the housekeeping, estates and catering teams
  • To ensure compliance with all YMCA policies and procedures, including Child Protection, Health and Safety, Human Resources and Financial policies.
  • Liaise with suppliers, contractors and other services during duty management shifts to ensure effective operation of the site.
  • Provide exceptional customer care whilst mentoring others to do the same.
  • To always act in the interests of your own safety & the safety of others.
  • To follow YMCA Fairthorne Group’s Safeguarding, Child Protection and Safer Working practice policies always. Taking any concerns regarding a health or/and wellbeing to your line manager or senior management.

Qualifications/Experience:

Our delivery team ensure all Fairthorne Manor visitors enjoy a memorable visit with exceptional programmes, leaving with fantastic memories. Successful candidates will be able to display a great attitude, sparkling personality, a strong work ethic and a fantastic set of team working skills. Your excellent customer service skills and ability to engage with people of all ages are really important to us; ideally you would have some activity delivery skills, but we can provide suitable training for the right candidate

Desirable

  • Sports coaching qualifications
  • Any NGB Instructing qualifications.
  • Childcare experience
  • At least 1 year experience working in outdoor education or similar environment.
  • ERCA Traditional Ropes Instructor
  • And/or Climbing Wall Award inc. Abseil module
  • Outdoor First Aid Certificate
  • UKCC Level 1 Coaching Paddlesports / BC Paddlesport Instructor
