Crynodeb

In 2023, Ofsted rated Calderstones School ‘Good’ in all areas. Our large, successful, richly diverse comprehensive school is adjacent to Calderstones Park, South Liverpool. The school’s comprehensive nature and community spirit is something that we value immensely. In every aspect of school life, we aim to offer a first-class education to local children, whatever their background, gender, prior attainment, or faith. We will raise the bar for our students and our staff with the view that 'nobody rises to low expectations'.

We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a creative and innovative Teacher of Art & Design to join an ambitious, successful, forward-thinking department of four teaching staff and a dedicated art technician. Art & Design and Photography are popular subjects at GCSE and A Level. (See department information for further detail on our successes.)

The department benefits from having four purpose-built art rooms and a ceramics room. It is very well resourced with each room having ICT provision to include a digital projector and interactive white board. Other resources include seven multimedia flat screen computers, colour photo printer, digital cameras, a printing press and a modern from loading kiln.

This position would suit an experienced Art & Design teacher, although applications from ETCs are welcome. It would be extremely advantageous to be able to teach photography at GCSE and A Level, although this is not essential.

The school has impressive facilities across the campus including a swimming pool, ample secure staff parking and full equipped gym.

The school is proud to be an Equal Opportunities Employer and positively welcomes applications from all individuals regardless of their sex, gender identity, creed, marital status, race, age, disability, sexual orientation or religious belief.

Calderstones School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check before taking up the post and undertake a minimum of three-yearly checks.

Calderstones School is committed to promoting positive mental health and emotional well-being to our student body and to every member of our school staff. We pursue this aim using effective policies and procedures within a safe and supportive school/work environment.

All applications can be made via the TES website or via the school website at www.calderstones.co.uk. (School applications should be returned to recruitment@calderstones.co.uk) Please return the application form with covering letter and the Equal Opportunities Monitoring form.

Applications from ECT’s are welcome.

Closing Date: By 5.00 pm on Sunday 14th April 2024

(CV’s and late applications will not be considered)
