Interim Highways Contracts Inspector - Traffic Services

Pay Rate: £23.08 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday to Friday, normal working hours
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 3 months
City: Kettering
The purpose of the role is to assist the Highway Service Manager to manage the Council’s NEC4 Term Services Contract. This will involve carrying out sample checks of highway maintenance work by the Term Services Contractor. Looking for adherence to the quoted works, quality, safe working/appropriate Traffic Management in place, possibly identifying other defects on the network to be reported to the contractor (but this is incidental to the main role).

Unless the DBS requirement stated above is for a Basic Disclosure, your DBS must be either through us or be accompanied by a subscription to the DBS updating service.
Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle to carry out site visits.
Qualification:
Relevant qualification in Highways / Engineering or considerable experience.
Skills & Experience
Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in a similar role.
Knowledge and experience of Highway Services including contract management and highway services.
Ability to identify and analyse complex problems and identify solutions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate with relevant stakeholders.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
