We have a FANTASTIC opportunity to lead the wound clinic team in Amber Valley.
We are looking for an established Lead Nurse who is wanting a new challenge or a Senior Nurse looking to progress their career.
This full time Lead Nurse post will require you to be a proactive and energetic individual who can systematically manage the service and disseminate improvements service wide.

The ideal candidates must be a Registered Nurse, with experience of managing staff, have a prescribing qualification (or willing to undertake) or have community nursing experience within band 6/senior band 5 role.

This clinical Nurse Lead role will be to support and develop quality patient standards across Amber Valley by identifying opportunities to ensure that our teams provide well-led, caring, safe, efficient and effective care.
As a key person in the Wound Clinics you will act as a role model, be inspirational, dynamic and a courageous individual.
Amber Valley have clinics Monday - Friday 08.30 - 4.30 in Alfreton, Belper and Heanor with weekend/bank holidays in Ilkeston.
Provide high quality evidenced based patient care.
Manage caseloads effectively and efficiently.
Provide operational management for immediate team, including attendance management, recruitment, performance issues, supervision, and appraisals.
Support your team through changes and developments.
Act as a champion for the wound clinic service area as required.
Be aware of current local and national issues which are influencing services.
Facilitate, develop, evaluate and share good working practice.
Ensure teams are informed through regular staff meetings using a variety of communication techniques.
Provide learning opportunities and experiences for team members and others, promoting a positive learning environment with a particular awareness of the needs of staff new to the Wound Clinic setting.
Participate in service development and audit as required especially evidencing wound healing rates within the clinic environment.
Actively support the development of a culture that is open to change and innovation.
Provide highly specialized nursing care to individuals with complex needs making use of current evidence to inform the delivery and promote the development of clinically effective care.
Our purpose is to provide Wound care services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.
We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people’s own homes and via virtual consultations.
During the pandemic response we have led the implementation of public vaccination centres in collaboration with partners across health and social care.

Responsible for overall Caseload Management. Monitor standards of care, deploying and supervising team members as appropriate and the daily management of own workload.
Co-ordinate the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care programs which reflect the individual needs of patients and carers.
Plan, implement and evaluate a learning contract for student nurses involving multi-disciplinary agencies.
Be involved in the education and training of junior staff and other staff employed within the care settings.
Have the initiative to respond to challenging unpredictable situations/behaviours within the caring environments
To manage any complaints, errors, concerns and other untoward occurrences in line with local policies, procedures and guidelines.( this includes issues relating Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and Children)
To know when to escalate clinical or operational issues to direct line manager.
Co-ordinate the assessment, planning implementation and evaluation of Care Plans that reflect the individual needs of patients that meet best practice using advocated tools/systems as required.
