A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO IMPACT THE CULTURE OF OUR SCHOOL
Are you genuinely interested in the welfare of children, calm under pressure, good at resolving tricky situations and enjoy praising and rewarding when people get things right? Are you looking for a very different career move?
At Watling Academy, we believe in the transformative power of education and we're dedicated to fostering an environment where students can learn and grow effectively. As a valued member of our team, you'll embody our core values of Respect, Responsibility, and Kindness (RRK) and be dedicated to encouraging students to embrace these values, rewarding their positive behaviour and providing support to those who need it.
We are seeking an individual with the right qualities to be successful in this role. The person is much more important than the qualifications or their employment background. Whether you've worked in education, public services, customer service or another sector, if you have the attributes we're looking for and our values truly resonate with you then we invite you to apply.
Our RRK Ambassador will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, crucial for interacting with a diverse range of individuals. You should have the ability to de-escalate situations, problem-solve and resolve conflicts effectively, while maintaining composure under pressure. A genuine dedication to the well-being and success of children is essential, along with being a positive, enthusiastic team player who communicates with clarity and gravitas.
As part of your role as RRK Ambassador, you will:
· Be a visible presence around the school building, guiding students towards RRK excellence.
· Forge productive relationships across the school, promoting a positive culture.
· Help maintain a safe, clean, and inspiring learning environment for all.
· Act as a first responder in situations requiring first aid, safeguarding the well-being of our school community.
· Play a vital role in our fire evacuation procedures as part of the Fire Warden team.
· Assist the Admin Hub and other staff by de-escalating situations and effectively communicating any concerns involving members of the public who enter the school premises.
· Ensure the safety of our school community in the car park, engaging positively with students, parents and visitors.
Watling Academy was judged as 'Outstanding' by OFSTED in May 2023 and is a purpose-built 11-18 secondary school in its fourth year of operation, located within the Whitehouse development on the western expansion area of Milton Keynes. We will have 1800 students when at full capacity. Watling Academy is part of the Denbigh Alliance MAT.
If you would like to join our team then applications should be submitted with a personal statement explaining why you are applying for this role and how your skills align with our requirements.
Application forms only will be accepted - please do not send CVs.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check is required for all successful applicants.
