Interim Social Worker - East Locality
Reference no: Walsall (HQ) TCL WC17055
Pay Rate: £26.15 per hour PAYE
37 Monday - Friday, normal working hours
This opening assignment is for 3 months
City: WALSALL
Complete Care Act assessments, support plans and reviews of package of care and care home placements. Also completed carers assessments and support plan. Use mosaic IT system to record all work including case notes, assessments, reviews and support plans. Work on duty to screen new referrals and respond to telephone calls from services users, carers, and other professionals. Complete safeguarding section 42’s and Mental capacity assessments.

Qualifications:


Degree or diploma in Social Work, or CSS, or CQSW.
Registered Social Worker with Social Work England

Knowledge:


Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Social Care legislation.
Knowledge of current policy and practice within Health and Social Care.
Knowledge of electronic case management systems.

Experience:


Experience of preparing and presenting reports and other documents and contributing to teaching and delivering presentations.
Experience of working effectively under pressure within departmental procedures and to respond effectively in a crisis.
Experience of assessing risk and taking appropriate action.
Experience of managing complex relationships.
Experience of working with service users or within a social care setting.
Experience of supervising others.

Skills & Abilities:


Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with members of the public and relevant professionals both verbally and in writing.
An ability to develop and change in light of the changing health and social care policy environment.
Able to provide direct emotional and psychological support.
Ability to liaise effectively within the Department and other agencies and voluntary organisations.
Ability to plan, manage and prioritise workloads, demonstrating good time management skills.
Ability to undertake social care assessments, plan packages of care and monitor and review their effectiveness within the self-directed support framework.
Able to demonstrate good keyboard skills with a view to using various computerised and electronic case management systems.
Able to adopt a learning attitude and have the ability to adapt to change.
Able to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, as appropriate.
