Applications are invited for the post of locum consultant anaesthetist based at Southend University Hospital on a full time basis.
We are seeking applications from dynamic and proactive individuals to support our team. Although the position is a general anaesthetic interest post, specific areas of interest that applicants may have will be accommodated subject to mutual agreement.
Provision of anaesthetic services for a wide range of surgical specialties including urology, gynae-oncology, colorectal, general, ENT, trauma & orthopaedics, oral surgery, obsterics and ophthalmology.
The out of hours component of the post will consist of weekend trauma lists.
The proposed timetable will contain 5 general anaesthesia sessions.
The job plan is for 10 programmed activities (PAs) which includes 7.5 PAs for Direct Clinical Commitment (DCC), and 1.5 SPAs.
The candidate has the option to take up 2 Additional Direct Clinical PAs. The on-call commitment accounts for 1 PA and can take one two forms, subject to mutual agreement:
