public on sex and dangerous offenders. The post holder will assist in the management and central co-ordination of the Sex
and Dangerous Offenders Registers and advise on matters relating to Force policy and procedures in this area.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Management of Sex or Violent Offenders – MOSOVO – Team.
This role is a fixed term contract for 20 months.
The main responsibilities of the role is to contribute to the Constabulary and Department Goals and Objectives by:-
1. Make decisions in respect of records held within the ViSOR National Database and maintain
compliance oversight, ensuring accuracy and integrity is adhered to.
2. Make auditable decisions on the accuracy of Court documents ensuring they comply with Part 2 of
The Sexual Offenders Act 2003.
3. Liaise with other Forces and external agencies, acting as the MAPPA link between the probation
service and the police service
4. Represent the Constabulary at external user group meetings
5. Act as a Centre of Excellence to advise users and the IT Helpdesk on the use of ViSOR
6. Provide professional and technical advice in respect of the management of offenders including Sexual
Harm Prevention Orders and Sexual Risk Orders.
7. Analysing patterns and trends in data quality, data standards, crime methods and other relevant
information.
8. Make auditable decisions about the retention and disposal of ViSOR records in line with MoPI
standards.
9. Interrogate various computer systems and disseminate appropriate intelligence within the
organisation.
10. Support PNC Bureau and UNIFI Support by having full responsibility for updating and maintaining all
records in relation to all Registrable Sex Offenders.
12. Conduct all ViSOR training for users within Force, ensuring System Operating Procedures are fully
complied with, and ensuring a standardised approach is maintained.
13. Provide a Force Level Consultancy service in relation to relevant legislation and recent developments
in accordance with legislation, National guidelines and local policy to the force.
14. Act as the single point of contact with immigration in relation to the deportation of relevant Registered
Sex Offenders.
15. Maintain efficient working practices and processes within the department.
16. Maintain a good understanding of all operational departments within the Force,
17. Adhere to Health and Safety, Environment Management, Data Protection, Equal Opportunities, Freedom of Information, Race Relations and European Convention of Human Rights (ECHR), legislation, and ensure compliance with appropriate local procedures
