To provide 2:1 support for a 9-year-old male child with a diagnosis of Autism, ADHD, limited verbal communication and Epilepsy.

Main Duties:

We are looking to recruit two enthusiastic and committed Support Workers to provide 2:1 support for this child. The support will be delivered in the local community to enable him to access age-appropriate activities and may also, on occasion, take place at his home address.

The child has limited verbal communication and will need support with making his needs known and keeping him safe when out in the community.

Full training will be provided for Epilepsy.

Some of this child’s favourite things to do include being outside, he loves to climb and get messy, including playing with buckets of water; although this does not include visits to the beach.

He really enjoys sensory activities, including pendulum movements, chains and keys. He also enjoys watching some of his favourite TV programmes including Morph, Stick Man and Beauty and the Beast.

Person Specification:
The successful applicant must:
· have experience and a positive understanding about children who have disabilities
· have a genuine interest in working with children with complex needs
· have a high degree of initiative
· be punctual and reliable as the child cannot be left unsupervised
· Be flexible
· Have a happy, positive and caring nature
· Respect confidentiality

Hours: 3 hours per week
Rates of Pay: £13.09 per hour. 5.6 weeks holiday (pro rata) Out of pocket expenses will be met by the Employer.

Car driver required and must be insured for business use.

This post is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, cost to be met by employer.
