We are seeking compassionate and proactive individuals to join our Patient Minding Team as a Healthcare Safety & Wellbeing Officer with ISS.
This is a vital frontline role focused on creating a safe, calm, and supportive environment for patients - particularly those who may be vulnerable or under section.
You will work closely with clinical teams to prevent incidents, reduce conflict, and promote dignity and wellbeing through continuous presence, early engagement, and trauma-informed approaches.
This position plays a key role in bridging the gap between security, healthcare professionals, and patients, ensuring safety while delivering an exceptional and empathetic service.
The Role
Maintain a visible, reassuring presence across wards and departments
Build positive relationships with patients, particularly those who may be distressed or vulnerable
Use verbal de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques to prevent incidents
Identify early signs of agitation or risk and intervene appropriately
Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams to support patient care
Promote a culture of safety, dignity, and respect
Accurately document behaviours, risks, and interventions
Support efforts to reduce restrictive practices through proactive engagement
