About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Multiskilled Shift Engineer to work with our Mitie client within a hospital environment. You will deliver a multi-skilled maintenance service covering both electrical and mechanical disciplines, providing reactive and proactive maintenance to all operational equipment in line with project and service requirements. This role involves carrying out modifications, installations, maintenance, repairs, and calibration on electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation plant to optimise reliability, safety, and performance. You will ensure that all KPIs are met, liaise effectively with contractors and suppliers where required, and complete all necessary documentation and reports accurately and on time.
Main Duties
-Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks across the hospital.
-Complete repairs, modifications, and installations as required.
-Maintain, repair, and calibrate electrical and mechanical plant equipment.
-Respond promptly to breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime.
-Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures and site standards.
-Produce clear and accurate reports and complete all relevant paperwork.
Key Responsibilities
-Complete PPM and reactive maintenance activities to a high standard.
-Use appropriate tools and test equipment safely and effectively, understanding their limitations.
-Maintain excellent housekeeping in all work areas.
-Attend toolbox talks and contribute to a positive safety culture.
Requirements
-Strong understanding of electrical systems, plant equipment, and controls.
-Ability to read, interpret, and work from technical drawings and procedures.
-Self-motivated, well-organised, and keen to develop skills.
-Professional, respectful, and confident in raising safety concerns.
