Lecturer in A Level Drama and A Level Film Studies
36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
£34,421 - £41,074 per annum

Paston College is looking to appoint an ambitious and creative Lecturer to lead and deliver our A Level Drama and A Level Film Studies provision. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for an exceptional teacher who is passionate about performance, film, and inspiring young people through creative education.

You will hold course leadership responsibility for both A Level Drama and A Level Film Studies, taking the lead on curriculum planning, assessment strategy, quality assurance and student outcomes. Alongside this, you will deliver engaging lessons that challenge students intellectually while nurturing creativity, confidence and critical thinking.

A distinctive feature of this role is leadership of the Far East Theatre Company, Paston College’s vibrant and successful performance ensemble. You will direct and oversee productions, working closely with students to create ambitious, high-quality performances that form a central part of the college’s enrichment offer. Through this work, you will enable students from across the college to develop performance skills, teamwork, resilience and professional discipline beyond the classroom.

The post also includes monitoring learner progress, supporting achievement, and maintaining high expectations across both subjects. You will contribute to the wider life of the college through open events, taster days, parents’ evenings and collaboration with colleagues across departments, helping to promote Drama and Film Studies and support student recruitment and progression.

Paston College, part of City College Norwich, is one of Norfolk’s leading A Level providers. We pride ourselves on an aspirational yet supportive environment, where students are treated as young adults and encouraged to excel academically and creatively. Our strong results and reputation are underpinned by outstanding teaching, enrichment opportunities and a commitment to student success.

This role would suit a dynamic course leader who thrives on combining academic rigour with creative practice and who is excited by the opportunity to shape and develop A Level Drama and Film Studies at Paston College.
