Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Richmond Hill Academy is seeking an inspiring Class Teacher and Year Group Leader to join our vibrant, ambitious team. In this pivotal role, you will not only deliver high‑quality, engaging teaching, but also lead an assigned year group to achieve exceptional standards through effective use of resources and a relentless focus on high‑quality teaching, learning and achievement for all pupils. Building strong routines, modelling outstanding practice and nurturing a positive, collaborative culture, you will help drive excellence across the year group and ensure every child thrives.

We are looking for someone who can:

• Demonstrate outstanding classroom practice, modelling high expectations and creating a purposeful, stimulating learning environment.
• Lead a year group effectively, ensuring high‑quality teaching, strong use of resources and excellent outcomes for all pupils.
• Build positive, collaborative relationships with colleagues, families and the wider school community.
• Use assessment and monitoring strategies effectively to support progress and inform next steps in teaching.

Experience & skills:

• Strong organisational skills, including overseeing routines, interventions and support‑staff deployment across the year group.
• Ability to create engaging, well‑structured lessons that build on prior knowledge and meet the needs of all learners.
• Confident use of assessment, feedback and data to drive improvement and secure high achievement.
• Skilled in promoting positive behaviour, independence and cooperation in a safe and supportive learning environment.
