Summary
About the role
This role combines people leadership, strategic thinking, and hands‑on analytical direction, ensuring the work of your team lands successfully in the business. You’ll sit within the Supply Chain Development & Change team; reporting into the Head of Supplier-to-Depot Transformation.
You will lead and enable a team of analysts to deliver transformational change across Tesco’s end‑to‑end supply chain. You’re responsible for shaping direction, setting standards, and ensuring analytical work is focused on the biggest business opportunities. Working closely with senior Supply Chain leaders, you will help Tesco make better decisions through data‑driven insight, strong commercial thinking, and effective storytelling.
You will be responsible for
- Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team of analysts & project managers to deliver large scale, cross functional, initiatives for the business.
- Set clear priorities and direction for the team’s work, including annual objective setting, measuring performance and giving regular feedback to support personal development alongside business delivery.
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from ideation and concept through to delivery and benefit realisation, ensuring strong problem definition, clear outcomes and robust step change measurement methodology.
- Partner with stakeholders outside of supply chain to unlock end-to-end value and transform operating models, delivering large scale cost reduction across suppliers, commercial & retail.
- Bring together the different skills required to be effective in this role, including line management, internal consulting, supply chain subject matter expertise, project management.
You will need
- 5+ years’ of project/programme management experience with a proven record of delivery in a complex, data‑rich environment.
- Line management experience and ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong communication skills, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders including Directors and Business Leaders and the ability to flex style for technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Relevant degree and/or formal project management qualifications.
Preferred but not essential
- Analytical skills using SQL or similar programming languages
- Experience working with third party suppliers
- Familiarity with AGILE methodologies.
- Background in Supply Chain, Grocery Retail or Consulting.
