Summary

About Dimensions

Dimensions is a leading not-for-profit organisation supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs to live full, independent lives. We're proud to set standards in personalised, evidence-based support, with people and their families at the heart of everything we do.

About the role

- Support Worker

- Full time and part time hours considered.

- Full UK driving licence essential

- £14.01 per hour

We are recruiting experienced Support Workers to support a gentleman with Autism and ADHD, who will be moving into a brand-new, purpose-designed home in Bricket Wood, Hertfordshire. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved from the very beginning, helping to establish consistent routines, strong relationships and positive support.

This new home in Bricket Wood represents a significant investment in high-quality, purpose-built accommodation. The site includes specialist bungalows and flats designed to offer safe, secure and highly personalised homes, enabling people to thrive with the right support in place.

This gentleman lives a very active lifestyle and thrives when his days are structured, busy and focused. He enjoys helping at a farm, visiting the pub to play snooker or pool, cycling, golf, boxing, tennis and attending a day centre. Sport plays a big part in his life, both watching and attending events and support staff regularly take part alongside him.

Experience supporting people with behaviours of distress is essential for this role. You'll need to be confident, calm and consistent, using positive behaviour support approaches to help him regulate emotions and maintain routines that support his wellbeing. He is very chatty and has a great sense of humour, so someone who is positive, energetic and engaging will be a strong match.

You'll support him with everyday living, including personal care, medication, maintaining his home, and building routines that help him look after himself. In time, support may also include accompanying him on holidays, as he currently enjoys active breaks with his family.

About you

You'll be someone who genuinely enjoys being active and working at pace, with experience supporting people whose needs include behaviours of distress. You'll be a strong communicator who understands the importance of consistency, boundaries and routine, and who can work in partnership with families and professionals.

You'll share our values of Ambition, Courage, Integrity, Partnership and Respect, and be willing to work flexibly, including weekends, sleep-ins or longer days if required. Good IT skills and a willingness to complete digital records and training are also essential.
