About the Direct Payment Holder

A reliable Carer is required to support a friendly and easy-going individual living in Croxley Green. He enjoys a relaxed lifestyle and is at his happiest when spending time on his iPad or enjoying good food. He particularly enjoys trips out, including visits to restaurants (especially McDonald’s), the cinema, bowling, and being outdoors.
He has Cerebral Palsy and autism (which is more subtle), and requires support with daily living to help him access the community and live an enjoyable, fulfilling life. It is important that he is treated with respect, listened to, and not underestimated.

Hours and rate of pay £15 per hour (up to £17 depending on experience)
5 hours on Tuesdays
5 hours on Thursday evenings
Weekend support required (typically full day Saturdays and some Sundays, with occasional evenings)
Location Croxley Green (WD3)
DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check
Right to Work and references will be needed.
Training Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
• Safeguarding Adults
• Introduction to first aid
• Health and Safety / Moving and handling

What you would be doing…
Supporting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding
Assisting with meal preparation and cleaning up after meals
Supporting access to the community (e.g. shopping, cinema, outings)
Assisting with maintaining his bedroom and bathroom
Encouraging engagement in activities beyond screen time


Required skills and experience
Ideally a driver (use of a wheelchair accessible Motability vehicle when
supporting in the community)

Experience in personal care preferred but not essential

Moving and handling awareness (training can be provided if needed)

Ability to support with standing transfers (hoist may be used occasionally)
